The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls is looking for a Director of Nursing (DON) join our team in caring for America's Heroes.
We are a 5-Star, Deficiency Free, Homelike Care Community.
The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls provides compassionate and professional long-term, skilled nursing care to veterans and spouses who cannot be cared for in their homes.
Director of Nursing
Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises the activities of all professional and nonprofessional nursing personnel, recommending nursing care services.
Coordinates activities of various nursing units, promoting and maintaining harmonious relationships among nursing personnel and with allied services, medical staff, members, and families.
Advises personnel on specified care concerns and implements systems to improve quality of care.
Ensures that department specific policies and procedures are in compliance with federal and state rules and regulations.
Complete Federal and State mandated documentation in a timely manner.
Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed.
Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed Prepare and educate staff on regulations so facility is ready for survey Performs physical and psychological nursing assessments when necessary Demonstrates leadership ability and management skills through fair decision making and reasonable expectations Director of Nursing Skills/
Qualifications:
Current RN licensure in Wisconsin Wound Care Certified or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrated knowledge of ANA Standards of Nursing Practice, gerontology nursing practice, and code for nurses.
Previous experience in long term care and management, preferred.
